China 2010 Spring Festival

The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Year's Eve is known as Chúxī. It literally means "Year-pass Eve".

From the February of 13 on of 2010, people will celebrate this great festival. They will get together with their family members; pay a new year call at the best friends or relatives. Children will get new clothes and grandparents would like to give money to them as a new year gift. People all over China, not only for Beijing will definitely spend the wonderful time in their hometown. At he beginning of the New Year, different region people have different customs. Some will have the traditional Chinese food dumplings; some will play the firework to welcome the new year, especially in the last minute of the coming new year. On the day of Lantern Festival, after having the Yuanxiao(sweet dumplings made of glutinous rice flour)people will walk out to see the lanterns and fireworks nearby.
